Japanese Language and Culture

Japanese Language and Culture is an exciting and constantly field of studies that covers a vast range and variety of literary and visual languages, traditions, and disciplines. In close synergy with faculty in the departments of Art History, English, History and Religious Studies at NU, DALC’s Japanese studies faculty offer a variety of both pre-modern and contemporary approaches to the linguistic and cultural humanities in Japan. Our courses engage both DALC major and minor students as well as any student -regardless of their major and minors– interested in Japanese cultural and linguistic heritages, past and present.
